The Honours Ceremony for the outgoing batch of class XII was held on 21st December, 2018 in the School Auditorium. The event started with the lighting of the lamp by the Founder Principal and Director, Mrs. Usha Chopra, the Principal, Mrs. Vandana Chawla, the Chairman Mr. Y. P. Purang, the Director of NEPS, Dwarka, Mr. Rohit Chopra and the Chief Guest, Mr. Vikrant Batra, Founder of Café Delhi Heights.

Mrs. Chopra welcomed the parents gathered there to witness their wards being awarded with citations as they graduate from school. She exhorted the students to go out in the world strengthened with the knowledge and values that the school inculcated in them. She congratulated every child for putting in hard work and encouraged them to achieve greater success in life.

The citations for every student had been painstakingly written by the class teachers and the students stood tall and proud as the School Principal read them out for each one of them in all the five sections. Proficiencies in academics and co-curricular activities were read out to honour the outstanding students.

Mrs. Vandana Chawla declared the Valedictorian of the Year, Vidhi Narula of XII A, an exemplary student who inspired others with her leadership skills. A special award, instituted this year called the Rachit Jain Award, in honour of Rachit Jain, a distinguished alumni of the school, was also presented to Ananya Kohli of XII E for her extraordinary overall performance throughout the year.

This was followed by a solemn and breathtaking candle lighting ceremony, as the Student Council handed over the light from their candle to the new Council, a symbolic passing on of the legacy.

The day concluded with refreshments organised by the school for parents and the outgoing batch of students, followed by a Parent Teacher Meeting to discuss the results.

    The Annual Prize Distribution of class I and II was held on 20th December, 2018.The programme began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by our Director and founder Principal, Mrs. Usha Chopra and the Principal , Mrs. Vandana Chawla. This was followed by a presentation, showcasing the various activities and special assemblies conducted in the school. 

    The Director then addressed the gathering urging parents to instill good values in their children. Mrs. Usha Chopra and Mrs.Vandana Chawla gave away the prizes and certificates for Academic excellence and full attendance. The parents were happy to see their children receiving the prizes.The Principal, Mrs. Vandana Chawla too shared her views and stressed upon the role of parents as mentors for their children.

     The prize distribution was followed by the choir ‘Chote Chote kadamon se meelon hum chalain’ which signified that the children of today are ready to face any hurdle which comes their way. The students sang happily with a lot of enthusiasm.

    The play – Indomitable spirit-the story of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam was based on the life of our former President. He was popularly known as the Missile Man of India. His life is a true example of how an ordinary man can reach great heights with an indomitable spirit and yet remain a man of utmost humility and simplicity. The play depicted important anecdotes of his life’s journey giving us a glimpse of how great he was as a scientist and the President of India.

    The event was appreciated by the parents and concluded with the customary vote of thanks.

      Every year, the school recognises students with leadership potential and invites them to be a part of the Student Council, to take the lead in organising various activities in the school throughout the year and play a constructive role in the growth of the institution. The selected students assume various responsibilities such as Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, Vice Head Girl, Co-curricular Captain and so on. These students are groomed and mentored by teachers, as they take charge of all activities and events in the school.

      The school conducted the Investiture Ceremony, an event to bid farewell to the outgoing student council and welcome the new one on 19th Decemember 2018. The Founder Principal and Director Mrs. Usha Chopra and the Principal Mrs. Vandana Chawla presided over the swearing-in ceremony. They presented the badges to the new council members. The new council members took the oath of office and promised to uphold the values of the school and discharge their responsibilities with dignity and sincerity.

      The Founder Principal and Director Mrs. Usha Chopra and the Principal Mrs. Vandana Chawla addressed the gathering. They congratulated the outgoing student council for carrying forward the legacy and discharging their responsibilities with sincerity. They also expressed hope that the new council will follow suit and justify the trust reposed in them by their teachers.

      The ceremony ended with farewell speeches by members of the outgoing council. The new Head Boy Daya Singh and the new Head Girl Ananya Aneja also addressed the students and promised to fulfil all the expectations and uphold the values that the school stands for. 

        The New Era Public School, Mayapuri reverberated with lively music and live dance performances by vivacious  students of the various branches of the School. The occasion was the Annual Fete that was held on 16 December 2018..The day began with an auspicious havan to invoke divine blessings . The bright sunny morning on a chilly winter day brought along a new excitement among the students and the teachers in anticipation of a fun filled day. The grounds were ready with the colorful stalls offering a wide variety of lip smacking delicacies, interesting games and swings .  Rounds of TAMBOLA sent waves of excitement and hope. A ravishing rave held every year at the Annual Fete is the JAM SESSION. It allows the students to let their hair down and dance to their heart's content to the foot tapping numbers .The star attraction of the event was the KARAOKE STALL at which the young and the old dedicated a song for their loved ones, expressing their love and gratitude. It was a roaring success !. There were surprise gate entry prizes as well as lucky draws throughout the day which spread a breeze of hope and happiness among all. The joyful rides, colourful stalls, surprise gifts and the remarkable jam session made it the most awaited event of the year......

          The Annual Athletic Meet 2018-19 was inaugurated by Mr. Rohit Chopra , the Chairperson of New Era Public School ,Dwarka . The qualifying rounds were held on the first day followed by the finals on the second day.

          Around 325 students of New Era Public School ,Mayapuri  participated with full enthusiasm in various events and won laurels . Various track and field events were organised in both :

          Girls and Boys Categories :-

           1. Sub Junior ( class 6 - 7 ): 100m , 200m , 4x100m , Rope skipping , Cosco ball throw .

          2. Junior ( class 8 - 9 ): 100m , 200m , 400m , 4x100m , Rope skipping , Cosco ball throw

          3. Senior ( class 10 -12): 100m , 200m , 400m , 800m , 4x100m , long jump , shot-put

          The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held at New Era Public School , Mayapuri on 26th December 2018 . The Principal Mrs. Vandana Chawla facilitated the winners  .

          The Best Outgoing Sports Person Of the year 2018-19 was Khushi Duklan of class 12 . She received a certificate , a trophy and a tracksuit from the Principal Mrs . Vandana  Chawla .

          The Final  House tally was calculated after adding scores of all the  Inter house sports competitions such as table -tennis , badminton , basketball , football , throwball, volleyball, cricket, tug of war in various categories held in this academic year.
