Report on
Cyber Safety Project
In
today’s techno world, it has become essential for each one of us to be aware of
the Virtual World around us and to safely and securely surf the internet. New
Era Public School, Mayapuri, is always working at its best to give a safe
environment to its students. Keeping this in mind, w had conducted a two months
project on the topic “Cyber Security”.
As
we all are aware that Cyber Security is one of the major concerns of today. In
this tech-world, one must be careful because his/her private data is not safe
anywhere. The privacy and the reputation of an individual is at stake today because
of a lot of anti cyber activities going on. Through our project “Cyber Security:
The Need of the hour”, we are working at our best to sensitize our society including
the students, parents and teachers to deal with this issue as it is a major
alarm today.
This
project started in November 2019 and continued till December 2019. We have collaborated
this project with our partner schools : Shubhakamana Academy, Kathmandu,
Nepal, Millsberry School, Nepal and
Airdale Junior School, United Kingdom. A lot of activities were conducted
during this project. We have also exchanged all our activities and students’ feedback
with our partner schools. We started with the Cyber Week in November, during which
a lot of inter house and inter lass competitions were held. Some of them included Poster Making, Slogan
Writing, Website Designing , Debates, Article Writing and Cartoon Making for classes
VI-XII. The best posters, slogans, articles and debate scripts were sent to the
partner schools.
An
inter school App Designing event “AppTeh” was also conducted in which the
students of various schools of Delhi , NCR had participated. They had designed
apps based on Cyber Safety. These apps also included the cyber policies
followed in their schools. The best app was from Lancer’s Convent Senior Sec. School,
Prashant Vihar.
The
documentary and short videos on “Cambridge Analytia” were shown to the students
and feedback was taken from them. We had sent these videos to partner schools
and their feedback was recorded. Our students had made a lot of presentations
on cyber crimes in India, cyber Laws and various organizations that have helped
in eradiating this issue and solving people’s problems. These presentations
were sent to the partner schools. We had organized video conferences with our
partner schools in which the students had discussed about various cyber issues
and the ways we an control them. This has helped them to compare the cyber crime
rates in the countries being studied and collaborated. Cyber Safety workshops
were conducted for students and parents to sensitize them of this issue and all
the necessary precautions to be taken while online.
This
complete project was a collaborative one and all the feedbacks and reports were
sent to partner schools as well. This has helped our students understand the
issue in a better and global way.
