School Houses

HOUSE SYSTEM

To work for effective management of school activities, discipline and foster the spirit of espirit de corps the school has established a House System. Each student is allocated one of the eight houses. The names of the houses are Jagriti, Pragati, Chetna, Kirti, Shradha, Prerna, Anurag and Smriti signifying the aims and ideals for students to work in collaboration and develop the spirit of team work.

Anurag - Vasudhev Kutumbakam - The world is a family

The motto embodies the loftiest Vedantic thought and emphasises that those who really practice this philosophy go on to attain the highest level of spiritual progress. By practicing such a philosophy,human beings are able to grow into responsible adults who believe in the equality of all peoples. 

Chetna - Tamaso ma Jyotirgamaya - From Darkness to Light

This shloka from the Brhadaranyaka Upanishad beseeches the Universe to give us ability to go towards a life of truth,to help get rid of spiritual darkness,to remove the bad qualities from our lives and to develop and enhance the good.

Jagriti - Ahimsa Parmo Dharma - Non-violence is the highest Virtue

This Sanskrit phrase that was a favourite of Mahatma Gandhi,states that Non violence is the ultimate and supreme duty of all mankind. It emphasises the unconditional and universal acceptance of non violence under all circumstances.

Kirti - Kirtiyasya seh Jeevati - Legacy Is Immortal

This emphasises that only he who does good deeds of benevolence, charity and sacrifice is remembered and praised for eternity. Through such deeds, man becomes truly immortal and his name lives forever.

Pragati - Udyamen hi sidyhyanti karyani - Hard Work Is the Key to Success

There is no substitute for hardwork. Goals in life can be achieved not simply by dreaming but rather only through personal effort.

Prerna - Karmanye Vadhikaraste - Duty Is Supreme

This beautiful quote adopted from the Bhagvad Gita emphasises that one must focus on the right to work and not be concerned with results that work will bring. It urges us to do our duty and be detached from the outcome.

Shradha - Satyamev Jayate - Truth always Triumphs

This Mantra, from the Mundaka Upanishda brings home to us that truth alone triumphs. We as human beings should always stay on the path of the righteous truth in order to live a good life. Satyamev Jayate is also the national motto of India.

Smriti - Vidya dadati vinayam - Knowledge brings Humility

The meaning of this sanskrit shloka brings home to us that, true knowledge brings humility to a human being. Through this humility, a human being finds their way to eternal happiness.
